It is wonderful to see a pot of this size thrown by one person. But why not use the coil method? Much less stressful. And any very large size can be achieved.
He could throw 2 or 3 separate sections then stack them. There's a pottery in England that uses that method to build pieces just as large, they can throw a pot that size in about 20-30 minutes.
@@deepashtray5605 Yes, I know about that method. My concern is that he is using incredible pressure centring etc. Carpal tunnel can only result with this extreme stress on his wrists. Of course not my call! But yes, very impressive!
@@ninapesner3434 In Korea there are potters that basically combine coil and throwing. Add a coil, throw it into shape, add the next coil. Very cool. If I had a larger kiln I'd try some of those big pot methods.
